A total of 75 gifted and talented science students from 25 secondary schools recently participated in the first edition of the Malta Junior Science Olympiad.

The students were engaged in three challenging scientific investigations related to the theme of Waste Management.

The initiative was organised by the Department of Curriculum Management in collaboration with the European Commission Representation in Malta.

The winners were announced at an awards ceremony held at Old University Building, Valletta.

The three winning teams from Savio College, St Micheal Foundation and St Ignatius College Boys’ Secondary School received an eBook Reader sponsored by the EC Representation in Malta.
