Malta has been voted Best International Destination at this year’s Group Leisure Awards.

The awards ceremony recently took place during a prestigious dinner in Birmingham, as part of the two-day Travel Trade Show.

The awards, as voted for by the readers of Group Leisure Magazine, honoured the Maltese islands with the top spot for the second time.

MTA’s CEO Josef Formosa Gauci said it was a great honour to accept the award. “The Malta Tourism Authority works in close collaboration with group travel organisers to deliver quality service, ensuring groups experience all that Malta and Gozo have to offer.”

Managing editor and publisher of group lesiure Rob Yandell said the awards took place at a glittering event in Birmingham, which was a fun night enjoyed by group travel organisers and the best of the travel trade.

“We are delighted to present Malta with the Best International Destination Award for a second time. Malta is ever evolving and offers a first-class experience for travel groups, which has been backed up by our readers here.

“We hope this award will encourage more leisure travellers to visit the beautiful Maltese islands.”
