Majjistral Nature and History Park has published a booklet highlighting aspects of the underwater biodiversity that inhabits the Rdum Majjiesa Marine Protected Area.
The multilingual booklet will help identify marine species that can be encountered while snorkelling in shallow areas off the park from Golden Bay or along other bays on the northwest coast.
The park regularly organises educational events including guided snorkelling, illustrated lectures, school visits and guided walks. The booklet is ideal for students and anyone wishing to get a glimpse of the rich underwater life in Maltese waters, a natural heritage that deserves enhanced protection.
Students wishing to receive a copy can either attend one of the park events, call the Majjistral Park Visitor Centre at the ex-military Għajn Tuffieħa barracks on 2152 1291 or send an A5 self-addressed envelope with a €0.42 stamp affixed to Majjistral Nature and History Park, PO Box 9, St Paul’s Bay SPB 3525.
The booklet was sponsored by the Malta Tourism Authority as part of Blue Flag educational initiatives while its design was sponsored by the Malta Environment and Planning Authority.
