May I point out to the readers (One World..., October 6) that Giuseppe Lia was not only responsible for the construction of the west front of the parish church of Marsaxlokk in the late 1920s, as appears in the article, but also for the design and construction of the cupola, which still adorns this lovely church and which has been the centre of attraction in this picturesque village to visitors in general and to photographers in particular. Architect Lia was commissioned for this work by Fr Salvatore Gatt, Marsaxlokk parish priest, at that time and both the architect and the parish priest came from Żabbar where they were born and died.
