I read a note from a French lady of Maltese descent that she and her friends were overjoyed when, last Sunday, they followed the Mass in Maltese on TV France 2 broadcast from the church of Saint Paul in Rabat.
They were touched by the “very beautiful ceremony” which “reflects the fervour of the parishioners of the locality” and they felt a certain emotion for the language they still relish.
They said they were also impressed by “the ability of the Maltese to reconcile tradition with modernism”, noting it was “a not so easy action”.
