The third round from the 2015-16 Gozo Motocross Championship took place recently in front of a sizeable crowd at the Xħajma circuit.

The day’s racing, sponsored by Ravenol Motor Oils, was characterised by fast times and exciting manoeuvres from the 19 riders who took part in the three categories contested.

Mario Cauchi achieved full points in Class A as he outsmarted Etienne Bigeni, last season’s champion.

Robert Spiteri followed in third place.

Category B saw Matthew Mercieca claim the day’s honours ahead of Matthew Zammit and Daniel Camilleri on his Yamaha YZ.

Jorn Stellini was in a class of his own in Category C as he left the circuit with 60 points, the most a rider can obtain in a single round of championship racing.

Stellini was followed by Josef Camilleri and newcomer Joseph Luke Gauci, in that order.

The next round from the Gozo Motocross Championship is planned for January 24.
