Located in the old capital Mdina, de Mondion Restaurant has been named the country’s top eating place, winning the award for the third time since 2008.

The restaurant scored the highest points for food, service and ambience in the annual survey conducted by the Definitive(ly) Good Guide to Restaurants, supported by the Malta Tourism Authority, HSBC and Marsovin. More than 1,700 regular diners took part in the survey, the largest response to-date.

“We are delighted that 12 years on we are still considered to be the number one restaurant guide in Malta for objectivity and comprehensiveness,” managing director Lisa Grech said during the award-giving night. The awards were presented by Tourism parliamentary Secretary Mario de Marco.
