On September 30, I listened on Campus FM to the first programme of a new series, Malta Memories.

The series is being produced and presented by Mike Roberts, a frequent visitor to Malta and who was, years back, a programme presenter and, at the time, chief announcer on the local BFBS station.

I am sure that those who, like me, listened to this programme found the format very interesting.

The series centres on a social history of the island and makes references to ordinary Maltese people and events that lived/occurred in the period 1964 to 1972.

The programme was liberally linked to and flavoured by the popular music of the time. This element may well be the one that listeners, Maltese and foreigners alike, will find particularly enjoyable in the programmes that will follow.

I take the opportunity to congratulate Campus FM for a varied schedule of programmes with which it regales its listeners.
