The sum owed to former bus owners in Malta was €54,347,683, Transport Minister Austin Gatt said in reply to a question by Nationalist MP Jean Pierre Farrugia. All amounts had been paid except for €1,051,129.76 involving ongoing legal procedures and €289,697.27 where owners had not produced the requested documents.

In Gozo, bus owners were owed €3,120,000, of which a third (€1,036,671) was paid. The rest would be paid out in two instalments over the next two years.
