The Foreign Affairs Ministry will be providing substantially more funding this year for non-profit Diplo Foundation, which promotes the strengthening of diplomacy and international relations.

“I am truly encouraged by the worldwide recognition over these years of the valuable and efficient role of the Diplo Foundation. Its achievements in capacity-building in the field of diplomacy are remarkable and highly commendable,” Foreign Affairs Minister George Vella said yesterday.

Dr Vella gave the opening speech during an event to mark Digital Diplomacy Day 2015. Established 12 years ago between Malta and Switzerland, the non-profit foundation assists all countries, particularly small states, in promoting their interests, running courses and on-the-job training.
