Nine BOV Premier League players were yesterday sanctioned by the MFA Disciplinary Com-missioner following last week’s programme of matches.

Danail Mitev’s season at Mosta is over after the Bulgarian striker was handed a two-match ban following the dismissal incurred in his team’s 0-0 draw against Birkirkara.

Mitev will now skip his team’s final two matches in the Championship Pool against Hibernians and Sliema Wanderers.

Melita will play their crucial Relegation Pool fixture against Rabat Ajax tomorrow without Nigel Rizzo and Jean Pierre Attard who were both handed a one-match ban while the Magpies will be without Justin Felice.

Floriana take on Ħamrun Spartans without goalkeeper Tony Warner and striker Steve Pisani who were also suspended for one match.

The other players sanctioned yesterday were Balzan’s Firas Aboulezz, Zach Muscat (Birkirkara) and Roderick Sammut (Qormi).
