The new APS Bank branch on Tower Road, Sliema was inaugurated in a brief ceremony presided over by Gozo Bishop Mario Grech.
Bank chairman Frederick Mifsud Bonnici welcomed the guests by remarking that the opening of a larger branch in Sliema was a milestone which showed the bank’s commitment to making its presence felt in the banking market by providing a level of customer service second to none.
CEO Marcel Cassar spoke about how the new branch was the first in a transformation programme which is redefining the entire customer experience, providing a more contemporary retail environment and setting new standards in branch banking in Malta. The technologies introduced include Teller Cash Recyclers (TCRs), interactive touchscreens as well as 24X7 automation in the lobby.
In his speech during the inauguration, Bishop Grech spoke about the need for banks to look beyond profit and to develop a social vocation. This could be achieved by placing humankind at the centre of their activity, investing in the ethical formation of their staff and accompanying their customers in developing a more ethical conscience in their business and economic activity. Guests were then invited to tour the branch and meet the staff, who were led by their manager, Alexia Cesare. A reception followed.
The new Sliema branch is located at 226, Tower Road, corner with Dingli Street. For more information, call the bank’s Customer Support Centre on 2122 6644 or e-mail info@apsbank.com.mt.
