Berta Sullivan ends up where I started from. The Global Competitiveness Report (2011-2012) tells us that the government is not clear on its policies on the self-employed.
... the Nationalist Party keeps asking for Labour’s policies- Helena Dalli MP (Labour), Marsascala
In the field, the self-employed tell us that government policies concerning their area are very vague, and that they need to know what they are in order to be able to operate well now and plan for the future. Instead of answering to these needs, the Nationalist Party keeps asking for Labour’s policies.
The point: If they really want to help the self-employed, Ms Sullivan and those in charge at the PN must first explain their own government policies, which have a direct effect on businesses now. Refusing to do this while diverting attention elsewhere and shifting the agenda by asking about the policies of their opponents, which can only be implemented if the Labour Party is in government, is only serving to cause more hardship and frustration to the self-employed today.
