The Labour and Nationalist parties are not getting involved in the spring hunting referendum campaign.
However, I wonder why the party leaders, despite telling their supporters to vote as they wish, felt the need to publicly announce that they are going to vote in favour of the derogation on spring hunting.
Both Joseph Muscat and Simon Busuttil gave their reasons for their choice, although ultimately no one will really ever know how they voted.
Moreover, I wonder if they could have a hidden agenda behind their declared Yes vote. I’m certain only about one thing: hunters, like thousands of other voters, can vote in any election, while birds can’t.
