On March 10, my wife and I were privileged to attend the recital by the internationally renowned Italian pianist, Michelangelo Carbonara, held in aid of The Friends of The Sick and the Elderly in Gozo, and Happy Moments Kenya, at the Kempinski San Lawrenz Hotel.

I would like to publicly thank the organiser, Sonja Sinclair Stevenson, for the months of work that went into arranging this glittering evening and particularly commend Joe Piscopo of Olimpus Music for having so generously made available the new Yamaha C3 grand piano, the quality of which truly enhanced the refined excellence of Mr Carbonara’s playing.

Members of our islands’ musical elite and ordinary music lovers concurred that this was a performance of note, made even more satisfying by the knowledge they had contributed to worthy causes.
