Sean Azzopardi won the prize for best portfolio in the Malta Institute of Professional Photography (MIPP) photo competition, which focused on AX Hotels properties.

The Palace, Victoria Hotel and Palazzo Capua had signed a sponsorship agreement with the MIPP to hold a photo competition for its members. Participants were asked to capture images of the hotels.

Joe Herbert placed second. Rosalie Spiteri won the single image competition, while Martin Agius and Rosalie Micallef placed joint-second.

Prizes included a voucher of €700 worth of AX Hotels products and services for the best portfolio and a voucher of €400 for second place.

First and second place in the best single image category received €200 and €100 worth of AX Hotels products and services respectively.

Kevin Callus, hotel manager at The Palace, Victoria Hotel and Palazzo Capua, said: “The MIPP photography competition followed the immensely successful Vodafone upcoming artist competition, which was hosted at The Palace.

Also, at The Palace we set up monthly art exhibitions through which we regularly support the creativity and vision of local artists.”
