On Tuesday, I attended a concert at St Francis church, in Valletta, and required toilet facilities before returning home.

I am wheelchair bound.

What a nightmare! Every band club, shop or café had toilet facilities up or down numerous stairs; the toilets in the main street had steps to even get to them and, in desperation, my friend pushed me from the entrance to Valletta to the cathedral and then back again to Upper Barrakka Gardens where eventually I found a toilet accessible to disabled people.

I am shocked that Malta has been in the EU for a long while now and still things like this are a regular occurrence wherever I go.

Someone in authority should put this right as soon as possible, especially in a capital city soon to be Capital of Culture.
