Pri-Sci-Net is a €3 million project pioneered by the Malta Council for Science and Technology that aims to promote inquiry-based learn-ing teaching methods in science in as many local and Europen primary schools in Europe as possible.
Directed by science educator Suzanne Gatt and funded by the European Commission’s Seventh Framework , the project involves 17 partners from 14 countries.
Over the next three years, the project will be providing opportunities to schools and teachers wanting further training and resources for inquiry.
It will provide 45 science activities using inquiry-based science education, which will be available in 15 languages, organise national and international courses as well as two international conferences.
The project will also recognise teachers’ work through a certificate of excellence. It is hoped that these efforts will help change science education in primary schools across Europe.
Teachers interested in benefitting from the free resources and opportunities offered by this project, such as access to European networks, and participation in national and international courses and conferences, should contact MCST for further details or visit the project website www.prisci.net.
