‘Business in action with cloud solutions’ was the theme of the recently held Digital Business Conference organised by PwC’s Academy. The aim of the conference was to bring together business leaders and IT professionals to explore innovative ways of transforming businesses. Today, every business process, whether finance, HR, strategy, risk, operations or customer is underpinned by technology.
The agenda circled mostly around data analytics and cloud service offerings. The message throughout the event was that nowadays we cannot talk about the next single big digital disruptor. Rather, it is the combination of various technologies coming of age that lead businesses to new visions for the future. It is the combination of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, autonomous devices, wearables and virtual reality that is shaping the future.
Workshops were held on topics such as predictive analysis in finance and iGaming, with practical case studies showing how companies can tap into historic or live data to manage risk; on retaining customers; and on triggering timely decisions that could make the difference between good and great, between surviving and thriving.
The use of the cloud as a faster and safer platform was also discussed and a session covered the challenges of using the cloud in regulated sectors.
With a line-up of foreign and local speakers, the conference attracted a diverse audience of over 100 people.
We are known leaders in helping businesses to unlock their value
The stage was shared with Microsoft, a leading platform provider for emerging technologies and business partner of PwC at the Microsoft Incubation Centre and PwC’s €1 million fund, which was purposely set-up to assist start-up companies.
PwC’s Territory Senior Partner Kevin Valenzia commented: “Clients nowadays come to PwC seeking solutions that transform their business and that address the whole picture. We combine functional, industry and technical expertise to deliver real outcomes for businesses. We are known leaders in helping businesses to unlock their value. As a firm, we steer away from providing a pre-packaged IT solution and pride ourselves to assist clients from strategy through to execution. We provide the strategy, the people, the processes, the C-suite relationships.”
PwC’s Technology Services gave demonstrations of the ease and the benefits enjoyed when migrating to a cloud-based infrastructure and of cloud-powered solutions to support knowledge workers as well as operations teams out in the field, based on the ease of using a PC, tablet or mobile seamlessly for capturing data or accessing corporate systems, securely, from anywhere.
The PwC network also announced plans to expand its current alliance with Microsoft globally. This will allow PwC firms across the globe to enhance their ability to support clients pursuing large-scale digital and business transformation enabled by Microsoft technology.
PwC will provide strategy through execution assistance to enable digital, business and cloud transformation with Microsoft technologies to clients across the globe. This includes Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Microsoft Office 365 and Microsoft Power BI.
PwC will also leverage Cortana Intelligence Suite as well as Azure IoT Suite and cybersecurity services. The expanded alliance will further enhance PwC’s ability to develop industry-specific innovative solutions with Microsoft technologies.
