Qormi have completed the signing of Sottish midfielder Stuart Duff.
Duff has agreed a deal until the end of the season after impressing coach Stephen Azzopardi during a short trial with the Premier League high-flyers.
Qormi, third in the table on 17 points after a run of positive results, stepped up their efforts to secure Duff’s signature after terminating the contract of Brazilian midfielder Giuseppe Vela whose time at the club has been beset by injuries.
Greek defender Christos Karamanolis, who is reco-vering from knee surgery, has also been released by Qormi.
The other foreigners on Qormi’s books are Nigerian forwards Abubakar Bello-Osagie and Daniel Nwoke, Brazilian winger Jorginho and Italian flank defender Fede-rico Mirarchi.
The 29-year-old Duff, who came through the youth ranks of Dundee United and last season played for Inverness, is now expected to be available for Qormi’s match against Hibs on Saturday.
Duff could go straight into Qormi’s first XI this weekend as Azzopardi must make one change in midfield after captain Joseph Farrugia suf-fered a calf tear in last week-end’s 3-3 draw with Sliema Wanderers.
Farrugia, who capped a man-of-the-match performance with two goals against Sliema, is facing up to four weeks on the sidelines.
