Paula Radcliffe has confirmed she will take part in the Bupa London 10,000 road race next month.

The 37-year-old has chosen the May 30 race, organised by the London Marathon, for her second competitive outing since giving birth to her second child, Raphael, in September last year.

Radcliffe will end 18 months out of the sport 15 days earlier at the Bupa Great Manchester Run, before taking part in the London event, which will take place on many of the roads that will make up the 2012 Olympic marathon course.

Also lining up in the event, which incorporates the first UK national 10km road championships, is Mo Farah who has twice broken the British 10km record at the event.

Radcliffe, the 10km world record holder, said: “I can’t wait to be running in London again.

“Racing in London holds special memories for me and this event is a great opportunity to test myself against some good opposition and be competitive again over a shorter distance.”
