The 15-year-old girl who ran away from home on Boxing Day turned up at the Qawra police station yesterday morning.

Angele Galea was last seen in Mosta on Thursday afternoon prompting her father Robert to issue a heartfelt appeal for her return.

“Angele, you can have all the freedom you want as long as you come home safely. Everybody’s worried,” he had told Times of Malta in a direct plea to his daughter to set aside any misgivings.

Mr Galea had urged her to let the family know she was safe by contacting them or leaving a message on Facebook.

Although this was not the first time the teenager had gone missing from home, it was one of her longest disappearances.

Contacted yesterday, Mr Galea said he was just coming to terms with the emotional reunion and thanked the police force for their help in ensuring his daughter’s return.

“She’s OK, just very tired. We’re still trying to work things out.”
