Now that the mould has been horrendously broken by the Marsaxlokk hawkers and market traders, who were allowed to open on Christmas Day, I wonder what would be next following this tremendously blasphemous act warranting critical examination.

Is it only a matter of time before we add insult to grievous injury by allowing markets to open on Good Friday, given that we now so blatantly and cavalierly disrespect the day Jesus Christ came to be. Why not exacerbate such dreadful sacrilegious disregard by failing to respect and honour appropriately the day he died – for our sins?

Finally, it is most alarming and immensely disconcerting that the Curia has failed to comment on this apparent business-as-usual approach on Christmas Day, which tends to lead one to assume therefore that they approve and condone such action.

Shame on them all!
