MEP Edward Scicluna has protested with the Broadcasting Authority for restricting the number of times a programme on his work in Brussels can be aired.
Through a judicial protest, Prof. Scicluna said the regulator was acting “abusively” when it issued a directive imposing restrictions. The directive impacts programmes featuring election candidates.
He said the programme L-MEP u Int (The MEP and you), aired on a private television station, was not about local politics but wholly dedicated to what happens at the European Parliament, which also finances it.
He called on the regulator to reconsider its directive and held it responsible for damage its decision was causing. Lawyer Michael Tanti-Dougall signed the protest.
