The Malta Postal Museum and Arts Hub, in collaboration with Euro Media Forum, will be screening a selection of short films for the Sciacca Sicilian Short Film Festival on Wednesday.

Short films from Sicily provide a journey through the heart of the Mediterranean and are a fusion of narrative, experimental, docudrama and animated films.

Since its inception in 2008, the Sciacca Sicilian Short Film Festival has been instrumental in the promotion and diffusion of cinema as an art form.

Wednesday’s event forms part of a series of alternative distribution and exhibition platforms where films are not screened in local cinemas and TV stations but are brought directly to viewers.

The films are screened in their native Italian and accompanied by English sub-titles.

The audience will be given the opportunity to vote for the best film.

The film festival is taking place on Wednesday at the auditorium of the Malta Postal Museum and Arts Hub, 135, Archbishop Street, Valletta, at 8pm. For bookings send an SMS to 9905 2482 or send an e-mail to euromediaforum@gmail.com. For event details, visit www.facebook.com/Euro.Media.Forum.
