The Maltese film Simshar won six awards at international film festivals over the weekend. The film, based on the 2008 fishing boat tragedy, won at the Bridges International Film Festival in Greece on Sunday , including the Golden Pegasus best film award for director and co-writer Rebecca Cremona and best actress for Claire Agius. It also won at the Edmonton Awards in Canada. On Saturday, Ms Cremona won for special achievement in Mannheim, Germany. Ms Agius, above, collected the award on her behalf.
