Why have the general waste (green) skips been removed from practically everywhere in Malta please? I have noticed, particularly over the weekend, mainly Sunday to Monday, pile-ups of garbage in various locations around the island. Although I agree that under no circumstance should people place their garbage outdoors on days when it is not collected, this is nevertheless being done.

At least, when the skips where available the people had the option of discarding the rubbish in them rather than leaving it to ferment under the scorching sun, which, apart from causing an unbearable stench, is, of course, also unhygienic.

Why is it that when a service, which used to be good and was also giving positive results, is abruptly stopped there isn’t so much as a notice informing the public?

I feel it is also in our best interest to know what led to this decision being taken.
