The €17 million Sky Parks Business Centre had barely been officially opened at Malta International Airport than MIA chairman Michael Hoeferer was already speaking about Sky Parks 2.
Considering the success of Sky Parks, the company would consider the possibility of Sky Parks 2, Mr Hoeferer said at the inauguration ceremony on Thursday night.
Sky Parks was another step in the development of the company’s diversification strategy, he said.
“Airports all over the world are realising their potential in becoming a hub of end-user activity rather than just a point of transition. Hence, the major decision to invest in a business centre,” he said.
“This is the fruit of a philosophy and synergy of shareholders and management combined, which creates an entity that is big enough to make a difference but small enough to care about their investment and, above all, about Malta and the tourism industry as a whole.” said Mr Hoeferer.
MIA chief executive, Markus Klaushofer noted that, from an energy efficiency perspective, Sky Parks was the first Grade A office building in Malta.
