Contrary to what many people think, the Holy Rosary is not just a conglomeration of Our Fathers and Hail Marys but, rather, a divine revelation of the mysteries of the life, passion, death and glory of Jesus and Mary.
It is made up of two elements, namely: a mental prayer and a vocal prayer. The mental prayer is the meditation on the mysteries mentioned above while the vocal prayers consist in saying the decades of the Rosary while meditating and contemplating.
In its present form, the Holy Rosary was first said in 1214. It was given to the Church by Saint Dominic who had received it from the Blessed Virgin as a sacramental means of converting sinners.
Over the years, there have been several stories of remarkable conversions through the power of the Holy Rosary. The Holy Rosary has been a very successful means of obtaining all graces for ourselves and for others.
According to St Louis De Montfort, the Rosary is the mystical rose tree o Jesus and Mary, in life, death and eternity. It is a priceless treasure inspired by God.
