Townsend: Leeds have com-pleted the signing of Tottenham winger Andros Townsend on loan until the end of the season. The 20-year-old will go straight into manager Simon Grayson’s squad for today’s home clash with Burnley. Townsend has featured for Spurs six times in the Europa League this season and also against Stoke in the League Cup.

Wolves: Relegation-threatened Wolves look set to hand debuts to new signings Emmanuel Frim-pong and Eggert Jonsson for today’s Premier League clash with Chelsea. Ghana-born midfielder Frimpong, 19, has been sent on loan by Arsenal so he can accrue more first team experience while 23-year-old Icelandic interna-tional Jonsson, a utility player, signed on a permanent contract from Hearts last month.

Roncaglia: Boca Juniors defender Facundo Roncaglia, 24, is on the radar of Catania in this month’s transfer window. Reports said that the deal could also involve goalkeeper Mariano Andujar who broke relations with the Serie A club after a row with general manager Pietro Lo Monaco. Catania want Roncaglia to join them im-mediately but it seems the Argen-tine wants to stay at Boca until the summer so he can play in the Copa Libertadores.

Swierczok: Goal-shy Bundesliga strugglers Kaiserslautern are looking to remedy their weak-ness by signing highly-regarded Poland Under-20 international Jakub Swierczok from second division outfit Polonia Bytom. The 19-year-old signed a three-and-a-half year contract with Kaiser-slautern, who are third bottom of the league and have scored just 13 goals, the fewest so far in the Bundesliga.

Vermaelen: Arsenal’s injury-plagued Belgian international central defender Thomas Vermaelen has been ruled out of today’s Premier League match with Fulham. The 26-year-old, who missed most of last season through injury, strained a calf in the 1-0 win over Queens Park Rangers on Saturday.

Emperor’s Cup: FC Tokyo qualified for the 2012 AFC Champions League yesterday as they came back from a goal down to beat Kyoto Sanga 4-2 to win the Emperor’s Cup. The final of the prestigious tournament featured two clubs from the J-League second division for the first time. FC Tokyo won the second division title in the last March-December season to return to the top flight, while Kyoto finished in seventh place to miss promotion.
