Frimpong: Wolves’ on-loan midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong will return to Arsenal after rupturing the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee in Saturday’s match at QPR. Frimpong limped off in the 24th minute of the 2-1 win at Loftus Road and a scan has revealed the worst for the 20-year-old.
Loan: Bayern Munich president Uli Hoeness has revealed the club loaned rivals B. Dortmund two million euros during their financial crisis. Dortmund chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke confirmed the loan, which was made in 2003 to help them stave off bankruptcy. “When they could no longer afford to pay wages, we gave them two million euros without securities,” Hoeness revealed.
Huth: Stoke said they were appealing against the sending off of defender Robert Huth in last weekend’s defeat to Sunderland. The German was shown a red card by referee Martin Atkinson for a tackle on David Meyler.
Zanetti: Inter captain Javier Zanetti has apologised to the club’s fans after “their worst performance of the season” against Roma. The Nerazzurri were thrashed 4-0 on Sunday in their second defeat in three games. “I think this was our worst performance of the season,” Zanetti said. “We never stepped onto the field.
