Semin: Ukrainian Champions League contenders Dynamo Kiev yesterday fired their veteran coach Yuri Semin in the wake of their humiliating defeat to Paris SG and a sluggish start to the domestic season. Morgan Amalfitano headed home in the 33rd minute to lift Marseille to 18 points, four ahead of second-placed Lyon. Marseille are the first team to win their six first league games since Monaco completed the feat at the start of the 1960-61 season.

Raul: Former Real Madrid and Spain striker Raul bagged a brace for Al Sadd, who continued their promising start to their Qatari League season with a 5-2 thumping of Qatar SC. Mamadou Niang scored twice in the first 10 minutes before Raul opened his account and added a second to give Al Sadd their second victory in as many matches.
