Ruediger out: Germany defender Antonio Ruediger will miss Euro 2016 after tearing cruciate ligaments in his right knee in the squad’s first training session at their base yesterday. Ruediger’s injury is a further blow for Germany’s back line with centre-back Mats Hummels still to fully recover from a leg muscle injury that meant he had to train alone during their pre-Euro 2016 camp in Switzerland.
Mor: Borussia Dortmund have signed 18-year-old Turkey player Emre Mor on a five-year contract to 2021 as they look to boost their squad for next season. Mor, born and raised in Denmark, joins from Danish club FC Nordsjaelland. He has also been included in Turkey’s Euro 2016 squad. “Emre Mor is a highly gifted and versatile young player with tremendous development potential,” said Dortmund’s sports director Michael Zorc.
Aton: St Johnstone announced the signing of Dundee United’s Paul Paton just hours after it was confirmed the midfielder had quit Tannadice. The Northern Ireland midfielder – who had skippered the Terrors in the final few weeks of the season – is moving to Perth on a free transfer after his contract with relegated United expired. Paton will link up with Tommy Wright’s squad for pre-season training later this month after agreeing a two-year deal.
Frosinone: Pasquale Marino is the new coach of Frosinone who lost their place in the Serie A last month. Marino, who signed a one-year contract, takes over from Roberto Stellone who parted with the club soon after relegation to Serie B was confirmed. Marino will be presented to the media in a meeting with journalists on June 16.
