A group of 24 students from the University’s Junior College recently visited the European Parliament in Strasbourg to take part in the Euroscola programme.
They worked in groups with youths from other member states and shared views on European issues such as the current economic situation, citizenship and values.
The groups then presented draft policies during a simulated parliamentary session, and at the end of the debate on each proposed policy, the students voted using the same electronic voting system used by Members of the European Parliament.
The group also visited the European Court of Human Rights and tourist attractions in Strasbourg.
The students were accompanied by Junior College lecturers Patricia Micallef and Robert Govus.
