A short film festival celebrating fantasy cinema will be held at Villa Bologna in Attard on Sunday.

Host Adam Peter Fretwell said film events like this are reviving the fantasy genre by giving the audience “a gateway into imaginary realms”.

“These short films capture memorable scenes of knights with crystal-like swords saving damsels in distress, dastardly villains using their black cauldrons to rule the world and dragons setting everything ablaze establishing their reign over the kingdom,” he said.

Before the screenings, Fretwell will deliver a talk on how swords have been portrayed in fantasy film and TV series versus actual swordplay.

The audience will be given the opportunity to vote for the best film and can win a number of prizes.

They are also encouraged to come in medieaval or fantasy costumes and prizes will be awarded for the best costumes. For bookings, send an e-mail to euromediaforum@gmail.com or an SMS to 9945 4066. For more details, visit www.facebook.com/Euro.Media.Forum.
