TVM has started broadcasting some programmes in High Definition today, after last week it announced the takeover of the former Education 22 Channel.

The national broadcaster entered into an agreement with Melita to start test broadcasts in HD from today.

High Definition, as the name suggests, is an improved picture quality transmission.

TVM HD can now be seen on Melita channel 110. Subscribers who have Netbox or the iBox will be able to see local drama and other programmes that will be shot with HD equipment.

The station will be telling viewers which programmes will be broadcast in HD or standard definition.
