How do we solve the flooding problems in Malta? Simply, by letting people with knowledge and common sense work on a solution.

What we saw last Monday should not happen, at least not on the scale we saw. In Mosta, just before the bridge, a lake was formed. Why should there be such an accumulation of water a few metres from Wied il-Għasel?

To rectify this problem is not costly at all. Simply put more draining holes on the sidewalk to take the water to the valley.

Also, most of the water will end up in the sea. Millions have been spent on desalination plants – a few more millions can be spent to build underground storage to save some of the water which right now is being wasted.

This is an age-old problem and no logical attempt has been made to solve it. If there are no Maltese capable of doing the job why not hire foreign experts?
