While I commend Bank of Valletta on their initiative to promote wildlife in depicting a series of beautiful birds on their prepaid Mastercard, which, as a collector, I eagerly awaited, I was disappointed to find they had made a serious spelling mistake on the literature showing the national bird of Malta, the merill, which they have incorrectly spelt as Blue Rock Trush, not Thrush.
This has been repeatedly printed on all promotional material, including adverts that appeared in The Times.
Everyone makes mistakes but this is unacceptable and does not do credit to BOV. What happened to proof reading?
