The Third country national Support Network TSN Malta has been launched. The first of its kind at a national level, the project aims to coordinate the efforts of migrants’ organisations operating in Malta.

The NGO was presented at the Catholic Institute in Floriana in front of a crowd of community leaders and foreign media.

TSN Malta, whose development started in 2014 as a project of the Foundation for Shelter and Support to Migrants, funded by EEA Grants, is currently run by an interim committee formed of members drawn from leaders of organisations under the presidency of Ahmed Bugre. A new committee and president are expected to be elected in June next year.

TSN Malta believes in the participation of diverse groups and cultures whose voice is important to the development of Malta and the people within its territory.

Diversity is also represented in its logo, designed by Strategic Communications. A colourful mosaic pattern was integrated into the logo, symbolising the different nationalities represented by TSN Malta.

Orange has been chosen as the colour stands for change, communication, humanism and service.

TSN Malta believes that third country nationals are strategic to the development and stability of Malta, their countries of origin, the EU and the world, and in the importance of peace building among the different nations, peoples, faiths, ethnicities and political beliefs.

The network is built on the principles of solidarity, self-representation and self-determination. This is because third country national organisations, groups and communities can best represent the needs of their own members in a way they determine and by establishing solidarity and sharing resources with each other.

These principles are important in ensuring the development of leadership and the diverse skills and competences associated with organisational and personal growth and development.

TSN Malta seeks to develop a strong partnership with other networks and local organisations in Malta, build bridges, work on common goals and share achievements.
