Pietà Hotspurs midfielder Nikola Tasic was yesterday handed a three-match ban following his red card in the 3-1 defeat to Mosta last weekend.
Tasic was dismissed in the first half for headbutting Dyson Falzon after the Serb’s late tackle on the Mosta left-back had sparked a confrontation between the two.
Tasic’s three-match ban starts on Sunday when Pietà Hotspurs face fellow strugglers Tarxien Rainbows.
Falzon was suspended for one game after he was sent off for two yellow cards in the second half of his side’s win over Pietà Hotspurs. He will miss Mosta’s Premier League match against Żebbuġ Rangers on Sunday along with team-mate Kurt Magro who was given a one-match ban for four yellow cards.
Naxxar Lions, who suffered a shock 2-1 defeat to Melita in the FA Trophy third round on Tuesday, will be without two players for Sunday’s league clash with Birkirkara after Victor Bellia and Pablo Doffo were sanctioned for four bookings.
Defender Andrè Scicluna, banned for four yellow cards, has been ruled out of Floriana’s derby against Valletta on Saturday.
Balzan midfielder Osa Ice Cream Guobadia, who incurred his fourth booking in the 3-1 defeat to Naxxar, will play no part in his team’s important match against Qormi.
