The hurdles, the opportunities and the priorities in a post-Muammar Gaddafi Libya will be discussed during a national debate on September 28.

Titled ‘Rebuilding Libya. What’s Malta’s role?’, the conference will bring together for the first time businessmen, politicians and NGOs to debate the next step in the war-torn neighbouring country.

The main speakers will be Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi and Libyan Ambassador to Malta Saadun Suayeh. An official from the Transitional National Council has also been invited.

Hosted by Intercontinental Malta in St Julian’s, Times To Debate is the second in a quarterly series organised by The Times. It will be chaired by The Sunday Times deputy editor Herman Grech.

The discussion will start at 8.30 a.m., preceded by breakfast at 8 a.m. A limited number of seats are available. All those interested in contributing to the debate may contact Nicola Busuttil at Intercontinental Malta on 2376 5771 or e-mail timestodebate@intercontinental.com.mt.

Bookings will be accepted on a first come, first served basis until Friday.
