I had a letter published last year while on holiday about the filthy and shambolic state of what are purportedly toilet facilities in Buġibba. Nothing has changed.
Last Sunday my wife had occasion to pay a visit to the ‘toilet’ at the Bognor end. Unable to reopen the locked door, she had to crawl out on her belly under the thankfully available space under the door. This was no easy task for a nearly 66-year-old. I shied away from a visit to the gents here two weeks ago. I could not bring myself to use these disgusting ‘facilities’ which have a hole knocked through at toilet pan level between the two cubicles.
You would have thought that putting a tourist information centre at the other end would have led to a marked improvement. Not so. There is no toilet paper, no soap and no flushing toilets.
Please do something about this, Buġibba council, which now has a sub-office at the other end of the toilet block. What a way to treat tourists.
