Defending champions Luxol had an easy task as they crushed Marsascala 17-1.
Luxol produced a lively display with Clint Cope notching a hat-trick.
Florin Anton, Mark Zammit and Zvezdan Vukovic hit a brace while Glenn Bonello and Matthew Attard added more goals.
Marsascala’s only goal came from Josef Balzan.
Valletta recorded a 7-1 win over fellow top-six challengers Swieqi United.
The in-form Citizens had Denis di Maio netting three goals while Daniel Brincat scored a double.
Xavier Saliba and Cristian Cuadros Silva were also on the scoresheet for the Citizens.
Diego Gomes de Mello reduced the arrears for Swieqi who had Boicho Marev sent off for two bookings.
Lija showed no mercy over bottom side in Gozo FC as they routed them 13-0.
Lija’s Andre Henrique de Souza, Ebrahim Massoudi, Jason Gauci, Luke John Stivala and Chavi Montes Burgos managed a brace each.
Chris Cardona, Wallace Santos Junior and Nicola Del Re were the other scorers for Lija.
Msida returned to winning ways after a hard-fought 8-4 victory over Mqabba.
Paulo Mendes da Silva scored a hat-trick with the other goals coming from Ryan Xuereb, Marian Gologan, Matthew Dingli, Herbert Spiteri and Floren Manea. Mqabba’s scorers were Steve Falzon (2), Miguel Alcaraz and Lydon Baldacchino.
Marsascala finally broke their duck after five successive defeats when they had the better of Żebbuġ 8-5 for their first win of the season.
Nikolai Filipov was Marsa-scala’s protagonist when he scored four goals while Josef Balzan grabbed a hat-trick. Steve Gambin was the other scorer for Marsascala.
Anton Novoa scored three times for Żebbuġ Rangers with Joseph Chetcuti and Jamie Portelli also on the mark.
