Prime Minister Joseph Muscat recently said the government was “seriously intent” on “eradicating abuse without looking at anyone’s face”. One could therefore ask him what steps will be taken against Malta’s Consul in Algeria, Robert Falzon, after 7,000 Schengen visas were issued to Algerians.

Why was Falzon quickly removed from his Malta consulate post just three weeks before allegations of a Maltese Schengen visa racket were made?
