The authorities have issued a warning over a number of products that look and smell like chewy sweets.

These products must be withdrawn from the market and can be hazardous to consumers, especially those such as small children who might confuse them for food, the Malta Competition and Consumer Affairs Authority said.

It recommended that customers immediately remove these products from their homes to minimise the risks of choking and chemical pneumonia.
