I refer to the article ‘The line between insults and threats’, (The Sunday Times of Malta, December 3).
The article states that the statements that somebody “deserved to be burned alive” and somebody “was digging her own grave” are “common idiomatic expressions in Maltese”.
In translation, these statements are: ‘Ħaqqu jinħaraq ħaj’ and ‘Qed tħaffer qabarha’. Can anyone please indicate to me what Maltese idioms these statements refer?
