Some days ago, I had the privilege of visiting the once prosperous and sophisticated Roman city of Pompeii, which the volcano Vesuvius buried under a thick carpet of volcanic ash in 79AD.
One of the graffiti that was found in the basilica, in other words in a public building or a marketplace at Pompeii, says: “A small problem gets larger if you ignore it.” What does this graffiti say to me personally and to us as citizens of this country?
