Appoġġ will shortly organise a programme of workshops to help parents in the upbringing of their children.

The programme aims to help parents work on their own personal development; to improve their relationship skills and understand human behaviour, especially that of their children; to learn how to care better for their children both on an emotional and physical level; to learn how to adopt a positive parenting attitude with children; to learn home management skills and to help parents live a more independent and active life.

The workshops will consist of groups of between eight and 10 parents meeting in a central location once a week for two hours over a period of about five months. Child minding will be provided.

Professionals may also refer families for these workshops.

Those interested in taking part are invited to attend an information session on February 5 at 10am at the Appoġġ premises in Guardamangia. For booking or further details visit www.appogg.gov.mt, contact Appoġġ on 2295 9000 or e-mail appogg@gov.mt.

Participation is free of charge.
