Heritage Malta’s exhibition by Alphonse Mucha titled In Quest of Beauty will come to an end this Sunday. To mark the end of this exhibition, as well as the International Museum Day, Heritage Malta will offer one last chance to those interested in visiting the Mucha exhibition at a reduced price.
Mucha’s impressive exhibition, at the National Museum of Archaeo-logy in Valletta, has been a standard feature within the local cultural calendar since February. The exhibition features a selection of over 100 works, including paintings, lithographs, sculpture, jewellery, photographs, drawings and other artifacts. Included in the exhibition is also the first poster produced for Sarah Bernhardt.
Heritage Malta will also be celebrating the European Night of Museums. Both are organised yearly by the International Council of Museums (ICOM), which is a unique network of almost 30,000 members and professionals that represent the global museum community. During these events, ICOM organises museum events for the public and tourists throughout Europe and the world.
To celebrate the European Night of Museums, tomorrow, the National Museum of Fine Arts will inaugurate an exhibition titled Preti 10x10: Taverna-Malta-Preti. For this special event, the museum will extend its opening hours until 11 p.m.
