Presenting students with a challenging curriculum and aiming at high academic standards are important educational goals. However, they are not sufficient to equip our students for the future.

At San Andrea we firmly believe that there is a need to create a learning environment in which students can explore and develop skills that are not included in a traditional school curriculum.

In today's highly pressurised classroom, activities which support learning in a friendly and social climate help to manage stress-related issues that can impede children's learning.

Through the adoption of a collaborative approach in the classroom, and the inclusion of diverse meaningful activities by the teacher, the challenges of catering for student diversity can be met, and can also inspire interest and involvement among the children.

The need to engage students and equip today's young people with effective foundations for lifelong learning has long been felt and expressed by educators. The way forward in this direction has however been blurred by frenetic study schedules and high stake tests.

Let us remember that education should be a process through which the whole person is nourished and developed.
